So happy with the Victoria’s Secret scent that they recreated!

15 years ago I was a doormen at a hotel in San Francisco, a saleswoman making a business trip from NYC to the department store Barney’s gave me a tip of Slatkin fragrance for men instead of money, I didn’t think nothing of it when I got the tip, but when I started to use it, I began to live the scent and EVERYBODY AROUND ME DID TOO, even my ex girlfriend that broke up with me told me 6 months after she left me the only thing she really missed was that “wonderful smell”. I tried emailing Slatkin trying to figure out where I could buy the same or similar bottle but oddly and insanely enough they discontinued the fragrance for men altogether. I’m not even a cologne guy and I’m telling you, THIS WAS THE BEST BOTTLE EVER. I am happy to see fragrance revival has a similar replica, though on my first order I made the mistake of butting the bottle that is just Absinthe by Slatkin, where I believe the true fragrance that I love is absinthe + black fig by Slatkin, that is more of my mistake than fragrance revivals, but the bottle they scent me does smell close enough to what I loved way back when, just a little off because it’s missing the black fig. The only thing if I were to knit pick on is it dies take about 2 weeks from the beginning of your order to delivery, but over happy and hope to be a customer for as long as they replicate the old Slatkin fragrance.

I ordered Skinny Dip fragrance. What I got has a very slight similar smell but it’s way off the original which was a sent I know well. It’s what my wife used until it was no longer sold and still wears when we can find someone selling it. I found a bottle recently from a private seller but still wanted to see if they could re-create it.

I ordered “types” of Lalique Hommage a l’Homme Voyageur as well as Clive Christian XX Art Noveau Papyrus.

Sadly, the Lalique clone was not even in the same fragrance family. The original has an ethereal, dry, slightly blue, dominant papyrus accord which is unforgettable, followed by light, supporting, dry hints of patchouli, vetiver, and woods. A one-of-a-kind fragrance that has been discontinued for several years and which is now $200+ per bottle aftermarket (if you can even find it). One of my favorites of all time.

This clone smells of amber, tonka or a cheaper vanilla accord with almost nothing else present. Not even a distant cousin to the original…no relation whatsoever. No sophistication, no development in the dry-down, no papyrus, no woods; just an inexpensive sweetness that I could purchase in an Axe body spray to be perfectly honest. I was crestfallen after excitedly opening the package with high expectations, only to come crashing back to earth once I sprayed it.

The Clive Christian clone is only marginally better, with a very slight, passing resemblance to the original. But to tell the truth, it really smells more like the original Polo than it does the Clive Christian fragrance. I could pick up a bottle of Polo for $50 on any discount fragrance site. This was also quite the letdown, though not as soul-crushing as the Lalique experience described above.

I feel like I went shopping in a fragrance bazaar in some shady market somewhere in the Middle East, with the merchant loudly proclaiming how masterful their fragrance clones were, only to get to the hotel and find out I had been bait-and-switched, spending five to ten times what the fragrance I received was actually worth. Or maybe like I went sneaker shopping in South Korea only to find out at the US customs office upon my return that my “Nike” shoes were actually knock-offs worth about a quarter of what I paid.

I have emailed and called FR for a resolution to this experience. I even offered to send a sample of the original so they can match it instead of randomly guessing based on some fragrance notes they read on some website, or even worse, just throwing something into a bottle and hoping I don’t have access to the original to compare (I absolutely have access, maybe to their surprise and chagrin).

If this is resolved in a satisfactory way, I will update this review to account for that. Heck, I will update either way to let folks know how this ended.

I hesitated to try out Fragrance Revival because I’ve tried a few other companies attempts to match discontinued scents, but I was always disappointed and they were NOT inexpensive. I had almost given up on finding a replacement for my all-time favorite scent, Galore. I wore it in the 1970’s – 1980’s. I was heart-broken when it became discontinued. Over the time I wore it people (both sexes) were constantly approaching me to say “Wow, you smell fantastic!.” More than a few times when I was in a bar, the men would come up and one even told me, “I don’t know who you are but I’d like to throw you up on this counter and have my way with you!” This product produced by Fragrance Revival is the closest I’ve come to an almost exact replica of Galore. I’m 81 years old now and I’ve only worn it for a week or so and I’ve had 5 or 6 strangers compliment me, coming up and saying, “Are you the person who smells so good?” As we age our body chemicals change, so I didn’t know if this scent would be as charming on me as when I was younger. I have to say I believe it must be. Thank goodness at my age I’m not exactly afraid of starting a population explosion!!! The one who really counts in my husband and he loves it! Congratulations, Fragrance Revival, you’ve captured the essence of my beloved Galore and i’ll be a lifetime member of your fan club!

The blend you made up for me is so close I can barely tell the difference from the original.

I just received this today and it smells absolutely awful and rancid. Nothing like the original (which I still have a tiny bit of to compare to). There is gunk floating in the perfume itself too. Will never purchase again.

Two stars for communication and friendliness of the staff, but just one star for the product. I was looking for a revival of a men’s cologne and what I got smells more like a generic women’s perfume. This wasn’t a terrible experience, but just not worth the money.

I have a sample of the ORIGINAL perfume by Guerlain; I don’t even want to use it as it’s so precious and impossible to find. I was so surprised to find this obscure fragrance here! So I ordered it and I am extremely happy with it; it’s a total match.

I love the perfume you created for me! I have missed the original Opium forever! Thought I’d never smell it again. It was a favorite of mine back in my 20’s/30’s. I recently purchased the version of Bull’s Blood, and I am completely over the moon. I never had the privilege of smelling the original scent and have been eyeballing it for years now, so when I happened upon this website, my jaw was on the floor.

I was supposed to have my perfume delivered the 9th of April, but saw that it was at my local post office and could *not* wait. I snatched her up as quickly as I could, haha.

I’ve had it for a while, and it lasts forever on my skin. went a whole day wearing it, and woke up the next day STILL smelling like it.

This is the exact fragrance that I have been looking for. This fragrance was discontinued in 2014, and there is nothing out there like it. I am so glad that I now have a place that I can purchase it from. I ordered the stronger scent option but still seems to wear off in a couple hours. 5 Stars to the exact match, but purchase/package updates were subpar. I had to email to ask when my order was going to be delivered, they did respond to me timely, but if I was informed upfront of how long it could possibly take to arrive, I would not have been worried. First, I thought it was a scam, then when they responded to my inquiry I was put at ease. Just be up front with the delivery time possibilities, and the experience would definitely be 5 Stars. Thank you so much! I will definitely order again from this place! The scents need to be stronger if I pay for it!

A long lost fragrance has been reborn!!!! Takes me straight back to my 20s when I lived in the sun and had no worries. Thank you so very much!!!

Fragrance: by Smell This/ Beach Smells

On Feb 15, I purchased 2 bottles of your version of Armani Mania. Your policy states that is not satisfied you will refund in full. I have emailed your site twice and called three times on different days and at different times to try to contact you. At no point have I gotten a reply to either emails or to messages left on your answering machine. This is a complete violation of any form of competent customer service. The price paid was $155.97 and I would like a full refund as the product sent smells NOTHING like Mania.

To anyone considering purchasing from this vendor, beware. Set your expectations in the sub basement and you may have less disappointment.

I am thrilled to have my ultimate perfume back. They stopped making it and although I have other perfume, I still find one that is my favorite. I found out about this company on social media. Of course I was skeptical for I had never heard of it, but decided to take a chance. So happy I did. I am thrilled to have my favorite perfume again. Take a chance so you can be happy to.

I honestly didn’t think this would work. I’ve used JOVON Ginseng NRG for years. It’s not a fancy or truly bespoke scent but, it always reminded me of my grandfather and it always smelled pleasant. They stopped making it and the price for what is left has gone from $20 per bottle to $120 plus. I decided to give this a shot. I gave the best description I could and included photos of the original bottle. The first scent that was delivered was way off. But they were 100% true to their word on making it right. I had a small amount left from the original bottle and sent them a sample. They tried again and provided two options to choose from. The first sample hit it almost EXACTLY. I just got the full replacement bottle and I am very happy with the result—and very satisfied with one of the best customer support experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you again!

I just received my perfume. It’s Exotic Bloom, a dupe of Estée Lauder’s Beyond Paradise, which is discontinued. That being said, it is spot on! I love it! So impressed! I will continue to buy it from here from now on. You guys are phenomenal at what you do!

I ordered a recreation of Brooks Brothers Classic Cologne, which has been discontinued and was an amazing cologne. I ordered from this website after reading their description that they can recreate the original cologne, but it is very disappointing to say that when I received the cologne, it didn’t even smell anything close. I don’t know what I received. It smelled like some little children created the cologne. I reached out to the company, and they were asking me to send the notes for the cologne, so they can try to re-create. In short, after going back and forth and providing enough information about the cologne, they sent me a 2 ml bottle of the recreation, and even that cologne was horrible. I am not sure how they are in business. I won’t use this company again.

I don’t write reviews but this I cannot let pass. I received my order with a mix of expectations, but, because it’s been so long, I decided I would give this my full honest review. I ordered the spray bottle. At first blush, I was not sure what to think. Three things are important to me 1. smell (of course), 2. strength (yup, there’s a balance) and 3. hang time (very important for me!) I have played with this on a towel in my bathroom, a shirt hanging on the door in my bedroom and my skin, which is the real test as scents tend to sometimes smell differently from person to person… it is chemistry after all. I waited to let the smells sink in and dry passing by to occasionally to check if it was still present. It was just strong enough for me and as it dried became more clear it was the scent I was questing for! As for the hang time? OMG! It is day three and it smells as great as when it dried upon application. HUGE! I raised daughters alone and they use to say they loved putting their faces in my scarves or jackets because it reminded them of me when I wasn’t present. Note: It did NOT have that public bathroom residual community “clean” smell which I have encountered in my pursuits through the years.

Frangrance Revival, Thank you for your talents and expertise. You have brought “home” back to my house and I am forever grateful!! Needless to say, I am a forever patron. Wow… its just amazing!
